Amy Tiemeyer was born in Prince George British Columbia, Canada and became a U.S. naturalized citizen at the age of 16. She joined the U.S. Army at 17 and was stationed at Ft. Drum, then Korea, with tours of duty in Germany and Saudi Arabia. She decided to start a family and transitioned out of active duty into the Navy Reserves and became a Seabee for a few years.
Amy’s passion is in volunteering and has written a book titled, Stories of a Volunteeraholic. She has been the recipient of numerous volunteer awards to include, the Civilian Hall of Fame for Joint Base Lewis McChord, the Civilian Hall of Fame for WA DVA for service to veterans and their families, AUSA’s 6th region award for service as well as the Meritorious Service Medal from the Air Force Association.
She co-hosts a podcast, Helping the Brave, which lets veterans across the country share their stories of transition from the military, overcoming challenges, as well as share resources and insights so we can work on building better networks.
Amy has 4 children and 3 grandchildren that keep her young and thankful for the little graces in each day. She was introduced to MVP a little over a year ago and fell in love with the ease and inclusive nature of the group.
Amy has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Master of Science in Business Management and Leadership. She also recently completed the WA state peer to peer training course to learn how to best assist others through peer support.
